Chart from List Webpart not showing anything in SharePoint 2010 - SOLVED V 2.2

Dec 18, 2012 at 5:22 AM

Hi,

I have installed Fusion Charts Free for SharePoint.Fusion Charts graphs are not displayed in the site collections that you create. So,the graph appears in the Root site collection.

Environment: SharePoint 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2, FusionChartsSharePoint-2.0beta

I want to know why the chart is not showing up?

I have the same experience.  Built source code from SP2010 branch and deployed.  Had to fix the feature to get it to properly package.  I can add and configure the web part, and I see that it is pulling back data (export to XML got me the data I expected), but no chart is displayed.

The issue is, as another user mentioned, IIS cannot serve up the SWF files.  The correct solution to the problem is to modify the SharePoint package to use a mapped folder to the Layouts/FusionCharts directory, and then modify the Utils.cs FeaturePath property.  I've done this and charts now render appropriately.

I've attached the WSP I used in my environment to the Issue Tracker entry.

Graph could be displayed properly with the WSP that you have uploaded. I am very grateful. Thank you all!

Sure, glad I could help.

There are additional issues which I may address, such as lookup values and ampersand support.  We are still evaluating various charting tools for my current project, but if I happen to make additional updates for this solution I will post them.

I have just checked in a code change for lookup support - but only in the SP2007 branch.

Can you make me a contributor? I can port your changes to 2010, and checkin the other modification I made.

I didn't think I could, but apparently so.

In the meantime, I have gone ahead and fixed the 2010 version to use a layouts directory, to fix this issue.
